Financial Aid

The majority of us have frequent periods in our lives where we feel financial pressure; especially in our current economic climate. When you or someone you love is diagnosed with Brain Cancer financial stress becomes VERY REAL quite suddenly!

Whether you have private health insurance or not, the costs of dealing with brain cancer is an unexpected expense that you never thought you would have to outlay. Unfortunately, life continues to go on and bills, mortgages, school tuition, etc still has to be paid!

Peace of Mind Foundation wishes to help alleviate some of this pressure by providing financial support where needed. Whether it be helping to cover the cost of surgical procedures, or even just help in paying an electricity bill, we understand that this is a time to be focussed on family, not money.

To be eligible for financial aid you need to meet the following criteria:

  • Be Geelong/Barwon region resident (Due to limited funding we can only offer assistance to local residents at this time)

  • Recently diagnosed or currently undergoing treatment for a malignant brain tumour

  • Have not already received financial assistance from Peace of Mind in the past 12 months (we supply one grant per patient per annum)

To apply for our financial assistance grant please download our Financial Grant Application and email it to us, along with a signed letter from your Doctor/Surgeon/Medical Oncologist stating your diagnosis and current treatment plan (must have official letterhead and signature). Email it to

If you are a health professional/social worker and are wanting to refer a patient to us then please download our client referral form.

All successful applicants will be notified within 7 days of submitting your application. If you are unsuccessful first time round then your application can be used again for the following month (no need to reapply each month).

To provide this much needed financial aid Peace of Mind Foundation solely relies on their own fundraising efforts and donations from the public.
