Are you a registered public company and do you have an ABN?
Yes

Are you officially registered as a not for profit organisation?
Yes we are registered and recognised through the Australian Charities and Not for Profits Commission

Are you DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient) endorsed?
Yes, all donations $2 or more are 100% tax deductible.

Do you have public liability insurance?
Yes we have public liability insurance cover of up to $20 million

What other insurances do you have?
We have volunteer accident cover, professional indemnity insurance and property/income insurance.

Do you provide services to ALL brain tumour patients?
No, our organisation is solely focused on providing services to patients with malignant brain tumours. Nevertheless, both benign and malignant tumour patients are more than welcome to attend our support group services

Where is your organisation based?
Our main office is in Geelong, Victoria, Australia.

How are your funds distributed?
100% of ALL money donations and all profits from our fundraising events (excluding merchandise sales) go directly towards supporting brain cancer patients and their families. A small portion of our merchandise sales are used to cover our administration, insurances and running costs of our organisation; the remainder goes directly to our cause.

Do you have paid staff members?
We do not have any paid members on staff. Directors and admin assistants all work on a voluntary basis. We do however, have some paid sub-contractors that are hired to provide home based services and emotional/counselling support to our clients.

What services are currently available?
All services are available but may depend on your location and are all subject to funding at time of request

Is there a criteria for who qualifies for your financial assistance?
Yes, there is a criteria. We will send you out all paper work and information documents when you make an application. We are also available to assist you over the phone with filling out any applications.

Are your counselling/support services run by professionally qualified counselors?
Yes, all our counsellors carry professional qualifications and have a high level of experience running both group and individual therapy.

How can I get involved?
You can get involved by making a donation, assisting us with our merchandise fundraisers, becoming a volunteer at our events or main office or you can even host your own fundraising event in support of our foundation.

Do you offer any paid employment positions?
Yes, we offer some paid sub-contracting positions for a variety of different services and fields.

What is the minimum criteria for all your volunteers?
We have two categories of volunteers:

1. Supporters who assist us with running our merchandise fundraising drives or host their own fundraiser to make a donation towards our cause.

or

2. Volunteers that are directly associated with Peace of Mind Foundation and have been screened and approved by us.

These volunteers must have a current police check and working with children’s check (or blue card). They must also provide a minimum of 3 professional/personal references and attend an interview with us so we can get a sense of their character and ensure they have the right empathetic and caring nature that is needed when dealing with our clients.
