Alanah & her mum Gina's Story

Where to even begin? My family are indescribably grateful for all of the fantastic work that the Peace of Mind Foundation does and for the countless ways they have helped my mum through all of the challenges associated with her brain tumours, from diagnosis to life post-treatment.

From advice, support, activities and inspiration to the incredible National Advocacy Service, the Peace of Mind Foundation is a group of passionate and caring humans here to help and support those impacted by brain cancer.

For my mum, who has always been one to put others before herself, it was overwhelming to navigate life post-treatment, prioritise her health and find what services and support she was able to access.

That was until the marvellous Fiona from Peace of Mind Foundation entered the scene. Her kind, passionate and encouraging nature, professionalism, experience and wealth of knowledge were evident from the first conversation. She empowered my mum to gain the assistance she deserved and provided invaluable support in the entire NDIS application process.

With the approval of that application, my mum can access the services and support she needs to reach her full potential. The confidence, assistance and encouragement Fiona has afforded my mum will never be forgotten or taken for granted. I encourage anyone who may be feeling lost, confused or alone in their experience with brain cancer to reach out.

It is impossible to say just how beneficial this has been for my mum and, subsequently, our family, and I cannot thank Fiona enough for the incredible and selfless work she does to improve the lives of others. I highly recommend the National Advocacy Service available through the Peace of Mind Foundation and other outstanding services they provide.
