Bec Mallett
Founder and Head of Operations
Bec’s personal experience with brain cancer within her own family ignited a deep passion for advocacy and support, leading her to establish Peace of Mind Foundation in 2013. Since then, she has dedicated her life to making a meaningful difference for families navigating the challenges of this devastating disease.
As a highly driven patient advocate and an influential public speaker, Bec has worked closely with hundreds of families impacted by brain cancer, providing crucial support and resources during their most difficult times. Her professional background in event management, leadership, and strategic development—combined with more than 15 years of experience in the not-for-profit sector—has enabled her to grow Peace of Mind Foundation into Australia’s largest brain cancer support charity.
Bec is widely regarded as a leader in the brain cancer support sector and sits on multiple national and international stakeholder committees and research advisory panels. She is a persistent and visionary leader, committed to creating sustainable, high-impact support services that improve the quality of life and survivorship for all brain cancer patients and their families. Through her work, she continues to drive change, amplify awareness, and ensure that no family faces this journey alone.
Outside of work, Bec is a devoted mum who dedicates her time to her children, her husband Matt—who has brain cancer—and their three beloved dogs. Despite the challenges her family faces, she remains deeply committed to her mission of supporting others through their own brain cancer journeys.
